Explanation
The term "Internet of Things" (IoT) was coined by Kevin Ashton in 1999 while working at Procter & Gamble. Ashton used this term to describe a system where the Internet is connected to the physical world via sensors and actuators, enabling objects to sense and communicate with each other without human intervention.
Since then, the concept of IoT has evolved significantly, encompassing a wide range of devices and applications that are connected to the Internet to collect and exchange data.
